CLASS DESCRIPTION

DESCRIPTION

This course provides an overview of many AutoCAD Electrical utilities designed to enable students to quickly create and manage electrical-control production drawings.  Students focus on how to build intelligent ladder diagrams and panel layouts, and how to leverage the intelligence built into AutoCAD Electrical.  Hands-on exercises representing real-world design scenarios for the NFPA (US) standard are included.

The AutoCAD Electrical: Fundamentals with NFPA Standards course is designed for those using AutoCAD Electrical with a Windows operating system. This course is not designed for the AutoCAD for Mac software.

The AutoCAD Electrical: Fundamentals with NFPA Standards training course covers the indispensable core topics for working with the AutoCAD Electrical software. In this course, you will learn how to use many of the powerful electrical drawing creation tools in the AutoCAD Electrical software. You will create schematic drawings (ladder logic and point to point), panel drawings, and PLC-I/O circuits using automated commands for symbol insertion, component tagging, wire numbering, and drawing modification. In addition, you are introduced to methods of customizing AutoCAD Electrical symbols, circuits, and databases. Other topics covered include titleblock linking, reporting tools, templates, and project files.

The main topics covered in this AutoCAD Electrical training course include:

  • Understanding project files
  • Creating and editing schematic and panel drawings
  • Working with PLC symbols
  • Creating custom symbols
  • Generating reports

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

OBJECTIVES

To teach users the basic commands necessary for creating professional electrical-control drawings with AutoCAD Electrical software.  After completing this class, users will be able to: Navigate the AutoCAD Electrical user interface, Manage projects and the multiple drawing and inter-drawing relationships contained in electrical projects, Insert wires, add wire numbers, manage circuits, and create point-to-point wiring diagrams and drawings, Insert and annotate schematic symbols, edit drawings project-wide with commands that are specific to the electrical design environment, Extract information from drawings to create Bill of Material, Wiring, and other reports and create and annotate panel layout drawings with lists of components that are extracted from schematic drawings.

The objective of an AutoCAD Electrical online training and certification course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to effectively use AutoCAD Electrical software for electrical design and documentation purposes. The course aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • Familiarization with AutoCAD Electrical: The course aims to introduce participants to the AutoCAD Electrical software, its user interface, and basic functionalities. Participants will learn how to navigate the software and understand its key features specific to electrical design.
  • Electrical Schematic Creation: Participants will learn how to create and modify electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical. They will gain an understanding of the various tools and techniques available for drawing symbols, adding annotations, and creating accurate electrical diagrams.
  • Component Management: The course will cover how to manage electrical components within AutoCAD Electrical. Participants will learn how to create and edit component libraries, assign intelligent attributes to components, and maintain a comprehensive database of electrical parts.
  • Automated Design Tasks: AutoCAD Electrical offers several automation features to streamline the design process. The course will focus on teaching participants how to utilize these automation tools to generate reports, create panel layouts, annotate drawings, and perform other repetitive tasks efficiently.

The course materials are so well-organized utilizing time in following the training classes that is good for the instructor and trainee. Martin delivered very well and clearly knew what the students needed to know from the materials, but I felt the training period should have been extended by another 8 hours. The training book is excellent!
